Jesus calls, saying, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” Over these six weeks of Lent, we will focus on the final hours of Jesus’ life in the Gospel of John, as Jesus teaches us how near he desires us to stay to him, all the way to the Cross…and beyond.
Contemporary Service
March 29 – A Royal Execution
The cross reveals a world built on power, control, and fear—and a kingdom that looks nothing like it. In the face of violence and dominance, Jesus shows a different way: humility, sacrifice, and love that refuses to fight for control. This message invites us to see which kingdom we are living in and which one we are called to follow.

March 22 – Naming the Powers
Everyone has an opinion about Jesus, but not everyone is willing to take a stand. This message walks through the tension of compromise, the danger of empty religion, and the pressure of the crowd, revealing how each played a role in the cross. In the end, we are invited to move beyond observation and decide what it means to truly follow Jesus.

March 15 – Jesus vs. Rome
When Jesus stands before the authority of Rome, two kingdoms collide. One is built on power, control, and taking what can be seized. The other is built on grace, inviting us to receive what only God can give. This message explores how Christ reveals a completely different kind of kingdom and challenges us to consider which kingdom is shaping the way we live.

March 8 – Trial and Temptation
Standing in the courtyard on the night of Jesus’ arrest, Peter faces a trial of his own. While Jesus speaks boldly before powerful leaders, Peter struggles with fear and denial beside a charcoal fire. This message explores the contrast between failure and faithfulness and reminds us that the grace of Jesus is always greater than our worst moments.

March 1 – Light in the Darkness
In the garden, Jesus does not run. He steps forward. As betrayal unfolds, we see both his power and his restraint, and we are confronted with a deeper question: who is really responsible for the cross? This message explores how the story of Jesus’ arrest begins not in sin or chaos, but in the love of God that moves toward us even in our darkest places.

February 22 – Jesus Our Intercessor
Before the cross, there was a prayer. On the night before His betrayal, Jesus lifted His disciples and all future believers to the Father in John 17. As we begin Lent, we are invited to discover that Christ not only prayed for us then, but continues to intercede for us now — calling us to live out His prayer in unity, holiness, love, and mission.

February 18 – Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent—a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal. Lent isn’t just about giving something up—it’s about turning toward Jesus, making room for Him in our lives, and remembering that God is always calling us home.
