Q: What styles of worship do you offer?
A: It takes all kinds of worship to engage all kinds of people. We try to have something for everyone. Check out the Worship Experience page for details.
- Christ. Community. Coffee. A contemporary, coffee-house worship experience in the Community Life Center on Sundays at 9:00am
- Contemporary Worship - Saturdays at 5:30pm and Sundays at 10:30am in the Sanctuary
- Traditional Worship - Sundays at 9:00am in the Sanctuary
Q: What should I expect on a weekend?
A: You are invited to “come as you are.” There is no dress code. You will be warmly welcomed in jeans and a t-shirt or a 3-piece suit. Whether you are a life-long believer or checking out church for the first time, you are welcome here.
Q: Can I take communion?
A: United Methodist Christians practice what we call an “open table,” which means that all persons, regardless of spiritual background, are welcome to participate in Holy Communion at Springfield First.
Q: Do you offer child care?
A: Yes! We love children of all ages! For your convenience, we offer a safe, professionally staffed nursery for children from birth to 2 years old, as well as a preschool and elementary school program for kids through 5th grade during each worship service. There is also a “Cry Room” in the back of the Sanctuary.
Q: Where are you located?
A: You can find us at the southwest corner of Koke Mill Road and Wabash Avenue. The entrance to the parking lot is on Koke Mill Road.
Q: Where do I park?
A: We have plenty of parking spaces around the church, in lots on the east, west, and north. Feel free to use any of them! We also offer free valet parking at the east canopy entrance for those with mobility concerns.
Q: The building is huge…where do I go?
A: The sanctuary can be directly accessed by the east or west canopy entrances. Our children and youth ministries on weekends are down the long hallway to the north end of the building where the Community Life Center is located.
Q: Are there opportunities to get involved in the church?
A: Absolutely! Whether you play a musical instrument or sing, have a gift to teach or love children, enjoy baking or landscaping, want to serve others on a mission trip or make a difference in the community, there's a place for you.
Q: How do I learn more?
A: The best way to get a feel for what we do and how we do it is to check out the Ministry Catalog or Good Tidings newsletter, come to the next Starting Point class, or contact Chantel Corrie, our Director of Connections. We hope to see you soon!
